I am a recipient of the somewhat monthly J. Crew Catalog. It is a beautiful catalog, one of the best out there, but the outfits the models display are completely ridiculous. No real person would wear these outfits. I suppose the marketing ploy in the catalog is to display the most expensive clothing items all at once, but these outfits are still silly.

In “Teeluxe” I poke fun at the chosen outfits by pairing them with outlandish fabric combinations. Taking it a step further, I replaced the models’ heads with an item chosen at random in some of the photos. The patterns and color combinations are garish and do a good job of mocking.
